EnGIS Technologies Leverages HD Radioâ„¢ Technology for Real Time Traffic & Navigation Services

Hong Kong Electronics Fair – April 15, 2009 – iBiquity Digital Corporation, the developer of digital HD Radio™ technology for AM and FM audio and data broadcasting, today announced that EnGIS Technologies, Inc., has obtained an HD Radio software development license to enable application development of real-time traffic and navigation services.

EnGIS is releasing its new navigation software named Gogo, which is available in standard and Real-3D mode. Gogo navigation currently supports Clear Channel Radio’s Total Traffic Network. The Gogo navigation software has many smart features to enhance the driving experience, such as text to speech (TTS), advanced lane guidance, intelligent searching, fuel cost calculator, and speed warning. And, it supports various languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Korean, Japanese and Thai. The application immediately notifies the driver of accidents, congestion and any event affecting a user’s route with easy to understand symbols and color-coded traffic flow maps.

“The software has ability to reroute around any problem on a planned route; users can be confident of arriving at their destination with minimal delay. Thanks to this successful partnership with iBiquity, EnGIS is able to offer a ground-breaking feature that continues to improve the navigation experience,” said Martin Carr, Vice President of Business Development for EnGIS Technologies. “EnGIS will begin to integrate the NAVTEQ Traffic Services as a next step to offer its customers the choice to support either the Clear Channel Total Traffic Service or the NAVTEQ Traffic Service.”

Jeff Jury, Chief Operating Officer for iBiquity, said, “Real-time traffic has become a must-have feature for today’s driver. EnGIS is an important partner for our overall HD Radio traffic and navigation eco-system. EnGIS is an experienced navigation software developer that will enable traffic services to be integrated and launched quickly with the Gogo navigation software.”
