MEDIA ALERT: Broadcasters Focus on New Reality: Digital – Online & Over-the-Air - is Key to Success
Bob Struble's Latest Web Column Distills Important Findings from NAB Radio Show in Philadelphia
What: In his latest Web column, iBiquity Digital President and CEO Bob Struble describes a new industry vibe he observed at this year's NAB Radio Show in Philadelphia: resolve. The radio industry has accepted its economic situation and gotten on with the business of fixing it. This recovery won't come easy. Struble believes that the industry will be in for some tougher sledding and radio's new digital competition will continue to fight for listener's attention and advertisers' dollars. But the good news is that there was widespread agreement on the operational actions the industry needs to take to position for future growth, including online and over-the-air digital. Struble goes on to say that the HD Radio rollout progress has been extremely impressive and will clearly help play a role in the growth of the radio industry.
Why: People in the industry have come together, planning for future growth. Struble experienced that affirmation at NAB: "Folks were clear eyed about the issues and challenges, and focused in on the actions necessary to grow once again."
When: NOW! October 12, 2009
